Hey everybody, I’m not feeling well (got a case of the flu). This is probably due to a lack of sleep this past week. I need to go back to the past episode where we talked about the importance of sleep. Once again when we forget to say “no” and try to take care of everyone else, we end up ignoring the person who needs the most attention – ourselves. If we don’t take care of oursleves, we won’t be around to help take care of others. In the meantime I found an interesting video on Youtube that’s all about going back to the gym.
Hey everyone, just a quick note to let you know sometime in the future (I’m not sure when, as they are kind of short on evaluation units) but I did get confirmation that sometime I will eventually get to test drive a Striiv unit for a week or two. This is the pedometer that acts like a computer (great for those who don’t have a computer, or kids who can use it to inspire them to get off the couch).
With March around the corner, McDonald’s announced that the Shamrock shake is going nationwide. before you get in line, lets look at what’s in that mysterious green goo has in store for you.
For a 16 oz. Shamrock Shake…
550 calories
16 grams of fat (8 of which are saturated, and 1 that’s trans fat)
96 grams of carbohydrates
72 grams of sugar (or 72/4 = 18 teaspoons of sugar – or put another way 6 TABLESPOONS).
13 grams of protein (from the milk)
190 mg of sodium
And then these ingredients for the special Shamrock Shake syrup: high fructose corn syrup, corn syrup, water, sugar, natural plant flavoring (plant source), xanthan gum, citric acid, sodium benzoate (preservative), yellow 5, blue 1.
Here is another way to look at it. It’s 26% fat ( 9 calories X 16 grams of fat) / 550 calories.
Here is another way to look at it. You burn 3.8 calories a minute walkign at 4 mph. That means you’ll need to walk for 2 hours an d 24 minutes at 4 mph to burn off the calories.
I want thank you and to tell you the inspiration you have been to me. I have battled weight issues all my life and prior to April 2010 I had all but given up and then I stumbled upon you at Logical Weight loss, you said don’t look at losing 100 pounds, look at it like losing 10 pounds ten times. I had never looked at it like that, and said to myself I can do that. So as of today I have lost 110 pounds, I’m not done, but feel so much better than I did 15 months ago. You make a huge difference in our lives.
