Have You Seen the 650 Pound Virgin?

by Dave on March 5, 2010

This story is amazing! When I investigated how this guy did it (and the trainer that helped him) I found that Chris Powell has designed the “Stax System” which is a very cool system that includes containers built for portion control (with lines based on your weight). It has a timer to remind you when you eat, and you can pack up to 5 meals into this kit (great for those times when you’re going to be gone all day). Watch David Elmore Smith’s transformation.

The Stax System From Chris Powell

Stax System Diet System, Kit – Stax System Diet System, Kit Chris Powell invented the Stax System (you see at the beginning of the 20/20 video he created a meal plan based on portion sizes). It is now available to you. The “bad news” is you have to create an account just to find out how much it is at their official site ($59). You also can purchase more of the containers, the ice pack, the cooler (if you bought them all separately it would be about $80). So instead of sending you over there I found a better place where you can go without having to potentially get you on an email list you don’t want to be). That’s at vitaminaisle.com It’s also $20 cheaper at vitaminaisle.com than at amazon.com

Apparently this is an old story, but one that makes you feel warm and fuzzy and if Dave can do it, so can you. He is now working as a trainer in a gym.

Mark Your Calendars – Great TV is Coming

by Dave on February 28, 2010

One of the things I like about the Biggest Loser is it gives me inspiration, and tips on diet and exercise. One of the things I don’t learn enough of on the Biggest Loser is how to prepare meals. This is why I’m looking forward to a new show coming to ABC called Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution. Jamie is a guy from the U.K. who made over their food lunch program and he is coming to Hunting West Virginia that was voted “unhealthiest city in America.”

It’s sad that these kids are eating pizza for breakfast, and don’t even recognize a tomato.  March 26th at 9 PM

To really get a glimpse inside the heat of Jamie Oliver, check out this video (very inspiring).

Feast Your Eyes on These Movies About Food

by Dave on February 26, 2010

I think most of us have heard (and hopefully seen) the movie “Super Size Me” which will turn you of of fast food. The maker of that movie has a new movie out called “The future of food” which is along the same lines of Food Inc which shows you just how bad our government is, and if think the FDA will keep us safe, you will be rudely awakend. If you’ve never seen the movie “The World According to Monsanto” it will REALLY open your eyes. You can watch if free here.

These other movies you can actually RENT at amazon.com and watch them right here on your computer (or if you want but the DVD). For $3 you can watch a movie for 48 hours. Sure beats waiting in line. This is also good for fitness videos as well.
