I realize that while I’m a gadget freak (I love my bodybugg, I’ve had great pedometers and heart rate monitors), but I realize not everyone wants to strap some technology to their body and go to town. They prefer something that doesn’t need recharged, doesn’t synchronize with anything and has a very tried and true platform (no not mac or pc) it’s called “paper and pen.”
Fitbook is a revolutionary fitness + nutrition journal that is redefining how people reach their fitness goals.
This unique 12-week planning system provides the frame work to:
1) develop a game plan by establishing 12-week goals then setting smaller, weekly goals.
2) record workouts and log food intake on a daily basis. Best of all it has a place for your gym card in the back.
3) reflect on goals, log accomplishments, and reap rewards!
The fitbook features pages with helpful information – recommended gadgets, a nifty food log guide, weekly fit tips for insight and motivation, and sample pages to make using fitbook as easy as 1-2-3
Want to know if fitbook really works?
Research shows that people who write down their goals are 75% more likely to achieve them. check out the results from a recent fitbooker survey:
75% of fitbook users surveyed have lost weight while using the fitbook: 43% lost 1-5 lbs, 17% lost 6-10 lbs, and 15% lost more than 11 lbs
40% of fitbook users lost body fat while using the fitbook, while a majority of fitbookers choose not to track body fat.
81% of fitbookers surveyed said that fitbook was effective (4) or very effective (5) in helping them reach their health goals when asked to rank fitbook‘s effectiveness on a scale of 1 to 5.
83% of fitbook users plan to re-order another fitbook when their 12 weeks are complete – of those, 15% already consider themselves “avid fitbookers’ having already re-ordered more than once.
No Fast Food For Forty Days Update
I had posted that I was going forty days without fast food. I did some math and compared my typical order at McDonald’s (a fillet of fish meal) vs a turkey breast sandwich at Subway with baked lays. The Filet O’ Fish meal has 560 more calories, and 31.5 more grams of fat. If you take the 560 calories and times it by a week you get 3920 calories (and 3500 calories is a pound). So if I do this 7 times I will lose a pound. One of the keys to this is I get NO dressing on my subway sandwich (no mayo, no light mayo, just meat and veggies).
Bipass Surgey Patients Have a Higher Rate of Suicide
I had previous mentioned a study that shows how people who have had bypass surgery have a higher rate of suicide. This goes back to fixing the cause of your weight problem (mental, stress, etc), instead of the symptom (your weight). You can read my post about this here
