I went to the doctor to get an official opinion on my blood pressure as it was up over 160 over 102. That was a week or so ago (and after I took some Jillian Michaels Fat Burner). She did say that most supplements do not work, or are just speed (diet and exercise are key – straight from my doctor's mouth). She did give me some tips for lowering my blood pressure.
1. Cut out the caffeine
3. Lower your sodium ( I was surprised how much sodium my 95% fat free oscar meyeer turkey has). Also watch out for soups, and prepared items (like hamburger helper, Chinese food, etc).
4. Quit Smoking.
For me I have too much sodium in my diet. I know this as I use Diet Power software (to grade what I eat, it also counts calories) as it's a bit of a “coach” so when I clicked on my sodium number, here is what it showed me.
The bad news I found out (and it motivated me) is that many of the blood pressure medicines have a side effect of E.D. Which leads us to our next topic
Getting Back on the Resolution Train
Many people have fallen off their new years resolution. Many times they didn't find an emotional reason to lose the weight and get healthy. If you can't answer the reason “why do I want to lose weight” then chances are you are not.
Today's example motivates me. If I continue to gain weight I will effect my blood pressure. One of the side effects of blood pressure medicine (often) is erectile dysfunction. I don't want E.D. so I'm going to exercise – a lot.
This might be your kids, finding a job, getting back in the dating game, a high school reunion in a few months, whatever it takes to get you off the couch.
Do you Own a TRX Suspension Training System?
I previously mentioned on the blog that I have some resistance bands. I saw a video about the TRX Suspension system on the Biggest Loser (see a video at a previous post)
