Slow and Steady Is Not So Bad

by Dave on March 7, 2013

In this week’s episode I talk about the following:

1. I “Flunked out” of Leanness Lifestyle University

2. Owning the fact that this “Failure” is really MY fault.

3. Not being first does not mean you’re last

4. Define what you call success. I’m losing weight consistently. I’m happy with that.

The BodyLastics Are Here!

I got my shipment today and waited to open them on the air so you an hear my first impressions (yes I know its radio..). Great stuff. A video will be in the future.

Hi Dave. I’m a long time fan of yours and you might know me from my own podcasting days. I just want to thank you for your great podcast! I’m also a listener to your Healing Our Marriage podcast too.

Dave, I really can’t recommend enough that you get into home cooking. I have a fave quote that might just sum up what I mean.

“The people who can most successfully lose weight and maintain a healthy life style are foodies. When it comes to healthy eating, people who know how to cook and make ingredients taste good have a distinct advantage over those who can’t.” — Edward Ugel

Once again thank you for all of your podcasts and good luck to Diane and yourself. Hang on in there as I’m sure you’ll sort everything out and also thank you for this Logical Weight Loss podcast.

Kindest regards to you and your loved ones.

Alex

Dave,

It’s hard to hear you call yourself an idiot all episode. Yes, you made choices and you should own up to the responsibilities that come with them but that doesn’t mean you are an idiot, nor should you down talk yourself. Being honest about the choice is good, don’t negate or deny, however negative self-talking isn’t doing you or anyone else good. I know you are Christian, but I wonder if you’d benefit from a more Buddhist mentality, not religiously speaking, but philosophically speaking. Living in the now. Accepting the truths are they are and dealing with them as is. The Inner Game of Tennis touches on a similar mentality (if you’d prefer something ‘non-religious’).

I think you are being too hard on yourself as JD says above! I think you are doing great. I, too, have been listening to the marriage podcast and it seems to me like you have a lot on your plate.

I really appreciated your telling us about the Bodylastics! I have been a member of the gym for several years and I really like going to the gym. I love the pool, and I love zumba and spinning classes…when I have time to go. I may be switching to a home gym (I recently acquired an old exercise bike circa 1990–lifecycle–) and getting some of these bodylastics to go with it. I haven’t decided yet, but with my current lifestyle I’m so busy that I just am not making use of the gym. I know that i have to exercise first thing, or no later than 3pm or it’s just not going to happen. I work crazy hours right now. I’m maintaining around 215, but can’t seem to get past this barrier…

something you said last time really summed it up for me though…it’s always about the food. and it sure is!
